The last session of the series is: Impact of Substance Abuse Disorder
When a loved one develops Substance Use Disorder, the family often experiences financial hardship, extreme stress and emotional or physical illness. This training offers suggestions for ways professionals can educate and support families.

The session will be held on Wed. May 1, 12:30pm-2:30pm via Zoom.

Beth Bitler has more than thirty years of experience in the fields of family recovery and parent education. Her background includes development of a curriculum for parents in recovery from Substance Use Disorder, oversight of a statewide network of child abuse prevention programs and administration of a community-based nonprofit. Most recently, she held a supervisory position in an inpatient treatment facility, where she provided psychoeducational groups to patients and their families, managed the facility’s Family Services Program and monitored client visits with families.

Beth has presented seminars and workshops at both national and statewide conferences, as well as continuing education sessions for child welfare and treatment professionals in a variety of settings. She has provided training with the PA Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs, PA Certification Board, PA Head Start and many others. She holds a master’s degree in Nonprofit Administration from West Chester University.
